【충북 브레이크뉴스】임창용 기자=충주시의회는 10일 건국대학교 글로컬캠퍼스 컨벤션센터에서 ‘지방의회의 비전이 도시의 미래를 바꾼다’는 제목 아래 충주시 발전을 위한 포럼을 개최하였다.
충주시의회와 한국지방자치학회가 주관한 이번 행사에는 김낙우 의장을 비롯한 박해수·정용학·이두원 시의원과 학계 인사, 공무원·시민 등 총 100여 명이 참석해 지방의회의 정책적 과제와 미래 방향을 모색했다.
이날 포럼은 ‘데이터·AI 기반 지방의회와 지역 청년정책 방안’, ‘행정통합과 인구감소 위기 속 지방의회의 역할’, ‘충북특별자치도 시대, 충주시의회의 역할 재정립’을 내용으로 주제 발표와 패널들의 토론 등으로 진행됐다. 특히, 참석자들은 지방의회의 정책 역량 강화와 책임 있는 의정활동 실천 방안 등에 대해 폭넓은 의견을 교환했다.
김낙우 의장은 “지역의 경쟁력은 지방의회의 비전과 책임 있는 의정활동에서 비롯된다고 해도 과언이 아니다”라며 “오늘 포럼에서 논의된 다양한 의견들이 충주의 발전과 성숙한 지방자치 실현에 소중한 밑거름이 되길 바란다”라고 밝혔다.
한편, 충주시의회는 앞으로도 정책 포럼과 간담회 등을 통해 지역 현안을 활발히 논의하고, 시민 중심의 의정활동을 강화해 나갈 방침이다.
