【충북 브레이크뉴스】임창용 기자=충주시 하수도사업소는 13일 봄을 맞아 시민들에게 깨끗하고 쾌적한 환경을 제공하기 위해 충주하수처리장 인근 벚꽃길 산책로와 수안보하수처리장 가족사랑생태공원에서 환경정비를 실시했다.
이번 정비에는 하수도사업소 직원뿐만 아니라 ㈜가나오엠, ㈜넥스트워터, 호암엔지니어링(주), 리뉴어스(주) 등 관리대행업체 직원 40여 명이 함께 참여해 겨우내 쌓인 묵은 방치 쓰레기를 집중 수거했다.
충주하수처리장 산책로는 걷기 운동을 즐기는 시민이 꾸준히 늘고 있으며, 특히 벚꽃나무 터널이 만개하는 4월에는 하루 1만여 명 이상이 찾는 지역 명소로 자리잡고 있다.
이에 하수도사업소는 지난해 12월 산책로 이용객 편의를 위해 처리장 입구의 미사용 건물을 리모델링하여 신규 화장실을 조성, 봄맞이 관광객 맞이에 만전을 기했다.
