충북도는 이번 사업을 통해 국산 드론 기체의 기술 경쟁력 강화와 드론 스포츠의 국제화를 위한 실증에 주력한다. 특히 레저스포츠용 국산화 기체 보급을 지원하고 관련 프로그램을 개발하여 충북을 대한민국 드론 레저 문화의 중심 거점으로 육성할 계획이다.
충주시는 도심과 관광지 등을 대상으로 한 K-드론배송 표준 모델 구축에 집중한다. 실제 수요가 있는 지역을 중심으로 배송 상용화 실증을 진행하여 도민들이 일상에서 체감할 수 있는 첨단 물류 서비스를 조기에 정착시킨다는 방침이다.
이날 오후 진행된 사업계획 발표에서 충주시와 충북도는 각 분야별 구체적인 실행 로드맵을 발표하며 사업 완수에 대한 의지를 공식화했다.
충북도 관계자는 “충북도와 충주시가 나란히 실증도시로 선정됨에 따라 충북이 드론 산업의 선도 지역으로 도약할 수 있는 발판이 마련되었다”며 “국토교통부 및 유관 기관과의 긴밀한 협력을 통해 도민이 체감할 수 있는 실질적인 성과를 내고 지역 경제 활성화에도 기여할 수 있도록 사업 관리에 만전을 기하겠다”고 밝혔다.
