【브레이크뉴스 대구】진예솔 기자=한국배달라이더협회 대구지회가 정해용 대구 동구청장 예비후보에 대한 공식 지지를 선언했다.
협회 대구지회는 15일 동구에 위치한 정 예비후보 선거사무소에서 지지 선언식을 열고, 정 후보에 대한 지지 의사를 공식적으로 발표했다.
이날 행사에는 협회 임원을 비롯해 회원 등 약 60명이 참석했다.
협회 측은 "배달 라이더들은 골목 구석구석과 혁신도시 곳곳을 누비며 지역 경제의 현실을 누구보다 가까이에서 체감하고 있다"며 "실물 경제를 직접 경험한 경제부시장 출신 정해용 후보가 골목상권을 살릴 적임자라고 판단했다"고 밝혔다.
정 예비후보 역시 "배달 라이더는 동구 경제의 모세혈관과 같은 존재"라며 "소상공인과 플랫폼이 함께 성장할 수 있는 상생 모델을 만들겠다"고 약속했다.
이어 스마트 라이더 쉼터 확대, 노동환경 개선, 안전사고 예방을 위한 제도적 안전망 구축 등을 추진하겠다고 덧붙였다.
정 후보는 또 "라이더가 안전한 도시는 곧 모든 구민이 안전한 도시"라며, 플랫폼 노동자와 소상공인이 함께 성장하는 지역 경제 생태계 조성을 강조했다.

Candidate Jeong also emphasized the creation of a local economic ecosystem where platform workers and small business owners grow together, stating, "A city where riders are safe is a city where all residents are safe."
