이날 협약식에는 김창규 제천시장, 박영기 제천시의회 의장, 켐리치(주) 김정옥 대표이사 등 대내외 관계자가 참석했다.
켐리치(주)는 산업용 기초 화합물과 정밀 화학 제품을 공급하는 전문 기업이다. 이번 투자협약을 통해 제3일반산업단지 내 18,759㎡ 규모의 부지에 최신 생산시설을 갖춘 제조공장을 건립할 계획이다. 공장은 4월 착공해 12월 준공을 목표로 하며, 총 300억 원을 투자할 예정이다.
이번 투자는 노후화된 기존 화성 공장의 구조적 한계를 극복하고, 강화된 환경 및 안전 기준을 충족하는 고도화된 생산 기지를 구축하기 위해 결정되었다.
