괴산읍 괴산시장 다목적광장에서는 방문객 500명에게 선착순으로 묘목을 배부했다.
이 중 초기 방문객 400명에게는 댕강나무 1본을 추가로 증정해 큰 호응을 얻었다.
군은 이번 행사가 군민들의 자발적인 나무 심기를 유도해 아름다운 경관 조성과 기후 위기 대응을 위한 미세먼지 저감에도 기여할 것으로 기대하고 있다.
우익원 정원산림과장은 “이번 행사는 산림의 공익적 가치를 이해하는데 소중한 계기가 될 것”이라며 “건강한 숲 가꾸기에 군민들의 많은 관심과 참여를 바란다”라고 말했다.
