(브레이크뉴스인천 박상도 기자) 인천시교육청이 지난 30일, 그동안 추진해 온 ‘역사 바로 알기’ 교육 정책과 독립운동 정신 계승을 위한 다양한 교육활동의 성과를 인정받아 광복회로부터 감사패를 받았다고 밝혔다.

인천시교육청에 따르면, 그동안 시교육청에서는 광복회와 협력하여 독립운동가 후손이 강사로 참여하는 ‘찾아가는 독립운동사 교육’을 운영하고, 독립운동 관련 도서와 콘텐츠를 학교에 보급하는 등 학생들이 올바른 역사 인식을 갖추고 애국심을 함양할 수 있도록 교육을 추진해 왔다.

앞으로도 시교육청은 역사바로알기 교육을 확대하고 미래 세대가 우리 역사에 대한 자긍심과 책임감을 갖춘 민주시민으로 성장할 수 있도록 지원할 계획이다.

인천시교육청 관계자는 “역사는 미래를 여는 힘”이라며 “광복회의 뜻을 이어받아 학생들이 올바른 역사 인식을 바탕으로 주체적인 시민으로 성장할 수 있도록 역사교육을 강화하겠다”고 말했다.
