[브레이크뉴스=황민성 기자] 사천 케이블카 자연휴양림에 자연과 목재문화를 함께 체험할 수 있는 새로운 공간이 문을 열었다.
숲의 향기와 나무의 따뜻함을 느끼며 여유로운 시간을 보낼 수 있는 ‘사천 목재문화체험장’이다.
사천시는 31일 박동식 시장을 비롯해 도시의원, 유관기관 단체장 등 300여 명이 참석한 사천케이블카 자연휴양림 내에 조성한 ‘사천 목재문화체험장’ 준공식을 가졌다.
‘사천 목재문화체험장’은 2022년 산림청 지방이양 공모사업인 '목재문화체험장 조성사업'에 최종 선정되면서 추진됐으며, 2023년부터 2026년까지 총사업비 약 68억원을 투입해 연면적 1161㎡ 규모로 건립됐다.
이곳은 자연 속에서 목재를 직접 만지고 배우며 즐길 수 있는 체험형 공간으로, 숲을 찾는 여행객들에게 색다른 힐링 경험을 선사한다.
체험장 내부에는 목공체험실과 목공예 공방, 그리고 레이저 체험존 등 다양한 목재 체험 시설이 마련돼 있다. 방문객들은 나무를 직접 만지고 다듬으며 목재가 가진 질감과 향을 온전히 느낄 수 있다.
숲마루 북카페와 어린이 놀이 공간인 아기별 놀이방, 은하수 놀이터, 나무 놀이터 등이 조성돼 있어 아이들과 함께 여유롭게 시간을 보내기 좋다.
