이천시, 한국폴리텍대학 반도체 융복합교육센터 개소

[브레이크뉴스경기남부=이천 이현준기자] 이천시는 9일 한국폴리텍대학 반도체융합캠퍼스와 협력하여 반도체 융복합교육센터를 개소했다.

이번 교육센터 개소는 수도권정비계획법상 4년제 대학 설립이 제한되는 지역적 한계를 극복하고 반도체 전문 교육 기반을 마련하기 위해 이천시가 한국폴리텍대학과 2년간 협력해 온 결과다.

시는 지난 2024년 교육센터 유치를 위한 상생 협약을 시작으로 설립 및 운영 협약을 거쳐 관련 조례를 제정하는 등 제도적 기반을 탄탄히 다져왔다. 이날 개소식에는 이천시장과 한국폴리텍대학 관계자 및 시의원 등 70여 명이 참석해 경과보고와 현판 제막 및 시설 투어를 진행하며 새로운 시작을 알렸다.

관고동 꿈자람센터 내에 조성된 교육센터는 연면적 1,519.4㎡ 규모로 강의실과 반도체 전후공정 및 설계 장비 70여 대를 갖춘 실습실을 운영한다. 한국폴리텍대학의 전문 인력이 배치되어 초중고 학생의 진로 체험부터 청년과 중장년층을 위한 취업 연계 교육까지 생애주기별 맞춤형 프로그램을 제공할 계획이다.
