【충북 브레이크뉴스】임창용 기자=제천시의회는 20일 의장실에서 ‘제천시의회 의원연구단체 운영 심의위원회’ 위촉식을 개최했다.
이번 심의위원회 구성은 작년 말 「제천시의회 의원연구단체 구성 및 운영 조례」를 전부개정헤 민간 전문가를 심의위원으로 위촉하도록 제도적 근거를 마련한 데 따른 것으로, 이는 연구 활동의 객관성과 전문성을 한층 강화하기 위한 취지다.
위원회는 의회 내 당연직 위원 4명과 이번에 새롭게 위촉된 학계, 예산·회계, 행정 분야의 민간 전문가 5명 등 총 9명으로 구성됐다.
위촉직 위원들은 오는 7월부터 2년간 의원연구단체의 등록 및 취소, 연구 과제의 적정성 심사, 예산 배분 및 결과보고서 승인 등 운영 전반에 대한 엄격한 심의를 담당하게 된다.
박영기 의장은 “지난해 조례 개정을 통해 외부 전문가의 식견을 더할 수 있는 구조를 갖추게 되어 뜻깊게 생각한다”며, “위원님들의 전문성이 우리 의원들의 연구 성과를 높이고, 제천시민의 삶에 실질적으로 기여하는 정책 발굴의 밑거름이 되길 바란다”고 당부했다.
