[브레이크뉴스=배종태 기자] 부산시가 장애인의 날을 맞아 장애인과 비장애인이 함께 어우러지는 공감과 소통의 장을 마련했다. ‘당연한 일상, 모두가 누릴 수 있도록’을 주제로 열린 이번 행사는 장애 인식 개선과 포용 사회 실현을 위한 다양한 프로그램으로 채워졌다.
부산시는 20일 오전 10시 30분 강서체육공원 실내체육관에서 제46회 장애인의 날 기념행사를 개최했다. 행사에는 박형준 시장을 비롯해 시의회와 교육청 관계자, 장애인과 가족, 특수학교 학생 등 약 5천여 명이 참석했다.
장애인의 날은 1981년 유엔이 ‘세계 장애인의 해’를 선포한 것을 계기로 시작됐으며, 국내에서는 장애인복지법에 따라 매년 4월 20일부터 1주간을 장애인 주간으로 지정해 다양한 기념행사를 이어오고 있다.
이날 기념식에서는 장애인 인권 헌장 낭독과 유공자 표창이 진행됐으며, 이어 문화공연과 전시, 체험 프로그램이 다채롭게 펼쳐졌다. 부산여성장애인연대 시극단 ‘물결’이 선보인 공연 ‘그리움을 담아 해바라기 밭으로 가려오’는 장애인의 삶과 감정을 진정성 있게 담아내며 관객들의 공감을 이끌었다.

행사장에는 발달장애인 청년 작가 9명의 작품 전시가 마련됐으며, 어린이 체험존과 37개 단체·기관이 참여하는 체험·홍보 부스도 운영돼 시민들의 참여를 유도했다. 이를 통해 장애와 비장애의 경계를 허물고 자연스럽게 소통하는 장이 형성됐다.
부산시는 장애인 주간을 맞아 지역 전역에서 다양한 기념 행사를 이어간다. 앞서 18일에는 부산지역장애인복지관연합 주최로 열린 장애인 인식 개선 캠페인 「제13회 담쟁이걷기대회」가 2천여 명이 참여한 가운데 성공적으로 개최되었으며, 이와 함께 장애인 주간 동안 부산장애인복지관 주관 ‘장애인 인식 개선 공모전’, 서구장애인복지관 주관 ‘종사자와 함께하는 가족운동회’, 북구장애인복지관 주관 ‘영화관람’ 등 부산 전역에서 장애인의 날을 기념하는 다양한 행사가 이어질 예정이다.
박형준 시장은 “아직 가야 할 길이 남아 있지만, 장애가 차별이 되지 않고 누구나 일상을 자연스럽게 누릴 수 있는 도시를 만들어 가겠다”며 “차이가 차별로 이어지지 않는 포용 도시 부산을 실현하겠다”고 밝혔다.

이번 행사는 장애에 대한 사회적 인식을 높이고, 모두가 함께 살아가는 공동체의 가치를 되새기는 계기가 됐다.

Busan City announced that it held the 46th Disabled Persons Day commemoration event at 10:30 a.m. on April 20 at the indoor gymnasium of Gangseo Sports Park. The event was organized to promote understanding of people with disabilities and to foster an inclusive environment where both disabled and non-disabled citizens can connect and empathize.
Approximately 5,000 people attended the event, including Busan Mayor Park Heong-joon, Vice Chair of the Busan Metropolitan Council Lee Jong-hwan, Superintendent of Education Kim Seok-jun, as well as people with disabilities, their families, and students from special education schools.
Under the theme “An Ordinary Life for Everyone,” the ceremony featured a reading of the Charter of Rights for Persons with Disabilities and an awards presentation honoring individuals for their contributions. This was followed by various cultural performances, including a stage performance by the women’s disability arts group “Mul-gyeol,” which received a warm response from the audience.
The event also included an exhibition of artworks by nine young artists with developmental disabilities, a children’s zone, and promotional and experiential booths operated by 37 organizations and institutions, encouraging active participation from citizens.
In addition, Busan City plans to host a range of programs across the city during “Disability Week.” Earlier on April 18, the 13th “Ivy Walking Festival,” organized by the Busan Association of Welfare Centers for the Disabled, was successfully held with around 2,000 participants. Various events, including a public contest to raise awareness, a family sports day, and movie screenings, will continue throughout the week.
Mayor Park stated, “Although there is still a long way to go, we will continue working toward a city where disability does not lead to discrimination and where everyone can enjoy everyday life naturally,” adding, “We aim to build an inclusive city where differences do not become discrimination and no one is excluded from daily life.”
