【충북 브레이크뉴스】임창용 기자=충북대학교 수의과대학이 지난 4월 22일 충청북도 동물위생시험소와 동물질병 공동연구 및 대응 협력을 위한 업무협약(MOU)을 체결했다고 밝혔다.
이번 협약은 수의학 및 동물방역 분야에서 양 기관 간 협력체계를 구축하고 연구·교육 교류를 확대해 공동 발전과 공중방역 역량 강화를 도모하기 위해 추진됐다.
양 기관은 협약에 따라 가축질병 예방·진단·대응을 위한 공동 연구와 정보 교류를 비롯해 기술 교류, 수의과대학 학생 대상 현장 실습 및 교육 협력, 연구시설 및 장비 공동 활용 등을 추진할 계획이다.
또한 협약의 원활한 이행을 위해 지속적인 협력체계를 유지하고 세부 사항은 상호 협의를 통해 조정하기로 했다. 협약 기간은 체결일로부터 3년이며 필요 시 연장할 수 있다.
김수종 수의과대학장은 “이번 협약은 동물질병 대응 역량을 고도화하고 지역사회 공중방역 체계를 강화하는 계기가 될 것”이라며 “현장 중심의 전문 인재 양성과 함께 One Health 기반의 통합적 질병 대응 모델 구축에 힘쓰겠다”고 말했다.
한편, 충북대 수의과대학은 수의임상역학 분야를 중심으로 다양한 기관과의 협력을 확대하며 대학과 지역사회가 상생할 수 있는 인프라 구축에 노력하고 있다.
