울진 미래 신성장 동력산업 발굴을 위한 초석 다져

울진군(군수 전찬걸)은 지난 2일 군청 영상회의실에서 국립해양과학관, 한국해양과학기술원 동해연구소, 환동해산업연구원과‘울진 해양 신산업 포커스 그룹’운영을 위한 업무협약(MOU)을 체결했다고 3일 밝혔다.

울진군에 따르면 울진 해양신산업 포커스 그룹(이하 포커스 그룹)은 관내 4개 기관의 실무자들로 구성된 협의체로, 각 기관별 주요현안에 대한 공유와 소통을 통하여 업무적 유대를 강화하고 울진군 미래 신성장 동력산업을 발굴하고자 구성됐다.

이번 협약을 통해 울진 미래 신성장 동력산업 발굴을 위하여 울진군 해양 신산업의 체계적인 육성 및 발전을 위한 공동협력, 상호협력 가능한 분야에 대한 정보 및 인적 교류 활성화, 학술회의, 세미나 및 워크숍 등의 정보교류 행사 공동개최, 경북해양과학연구단지(GMSP) 활성화를 위해 상호협력하게 된다.

전찬걸 울진군수는“우리 군은 환동해 해양과학산업 클러스터 조성으로 미래 신성장 동력산업의 발굴 및 육성을 위해 노력하고 있으며, 이번 업무협약을 통하여 울진의 해양신산업들이 단순히 연구개발사업으로 그칠 것이 아니라 산업화로 이어져 지역경제 활성화에 기여하기를 바란다”고 밝혔다.
