브레이크뉴스 정명훈 기자= 윤석열 전 검찰총장 재직시절 검찰의 '고발 사주 의혹'과 관련, 김웅 국민의힘 의원은 8일 "보도가 된 해당 고발장은 제가 작성한 것이 아니다"라고 부인했다. 그러면서 현재 맡고 있는 유승민 캠프 대변인직을 사임한다고 밝혔다.
김웅 의원은 이날 오전 국회에서 기자회견을 열고, "당시 대화는 보도된 고발장의 존재 자체를 인지하지 못한 상태에서 제가 최강욱 의원 관련 문제를 당내에서 최초로 제기했다는 점을 밝히는 것이었고, 실제 보도된 본건 고발장은 저와 관련이 전혀 없다"고 했다.
김 의원은 이어 고발장을 검찰 인사로부터 받아 당에 전달했다는 의혹과 관련 "고발장 등을 받았는지는 기억나지 않고 이를 확인할 방법도 없다"며 "하지만 모 매체의 기사에 나온 화면 캡쳐 자료에 의하면 제가 손모씨라는 사람으로부터 파일을 받아서 당에 전달한 내용으로 나와 있다. 이 자료들이 사실이라면 정황상 제가 손모씨로부터 그 자료를 받아 당에 전달한 것일 수도 있지만 일각에서는 조작 가능성을 제시하고, 명의를 차용했다는 주장도 있다"고 설명했다.
그는 "현재 저에게는 기록이 남아 있지 않기에, 그 진위 여부는 제보자의 휴대전화와 손모 검사의 PC 등을 기반으로 조사기관에서 철저히 조사해서 하루 빨리 밝혀주시기 바란다"며 "앞서 두 번의 공식입장에서 밝혔다시피 저는 당시 총선 공식 선거운동기간동안 선거운동에 집중하느라 저에게 제보되는 많은 자료에 대해 검토할 시간적 여유조차 없었으며, 당원으로서 제보받은 자료를 당에서 검토할 수 있도록 바로 전달한 것"이라고 했다.
그는 또한 "윤석열 전 총장 측에서도 보도된 자료의 조작 가능성을 제기하고 있는 상황 속에, 제가 어떠한 증거자료를 제시하지 못하면서 저의 단순한 기억력에 의존한 추측성 발언을 한다면 더 큰 혼란을 빚을 것이라고 생각한다"며 "조사기관에서는 조속히 이 사태의 실체적 진실규명을 위해 총력을 기울여 주시기 바란다. 사실관계를 밝히기 위해 저도 최대한 협조하겠다"고 말했다.
김 의원은 특히 "일각에선 제가 정치공작에 가담했다는 루머를 퍼뜨리는 세력이 있는데 이는 명백한 허위사실유포이며 엄중히 법적 조치를 취할 예정"이라며 "정부 여당에도 강력히 경고한다. 실체가 불분명한 사안을 두고 각종 음모론을 제기하며 야당의 대선 예비후보들을 흠집 내려는 일체의 공작을 중단하라"고 촉구했다.
그는 이와함께 현재 맡고 있는 유승민캠프의 대변인직도 사임하겠다고 했다.
한편, 인터넷매체 뉴스버스는 김웅 의원이 미래통합당(현 국민의힘) 서울 송파갑 후보였던 지난해 4월 총선 직전, 윤석열 전 총장의 측근인 손준성 수사정보정책관으로부터 여권 정치인과 기자에 대한 고발장을 받아 당에 전달했다는 의혹을 보도한 바 있다.

"I don't have any records left, so please thoroughly investigate the authenticity based on the informant's cell phone and Son's PC and reveal it as soon as possible," he said. "As I said earlier, I didn't have time to review many data reported to me during the official campaign."
He also said, "With former President Yoon Seok-yeol raising the possibility of manipulating the reported data, I think it will be more confusing if I make speculative remarks based on my simple memory without presenting any evidence." I will cooperate as much as possible to reveal the facts, he said.
In particular, Rep. Kim strongly warns the government and the ruling party, saying, "There are forces spreading rumors that I participated in political maneuvering, which is a clear spread of false information and we will take strict legal action." He raised various conspiracy theories over unclear issues and urged the opposition party to stop all operations to scratch preliminary presidential candidates.
