국가품질명예명장은 산업통상자원부의산하 (사)국가품질명장협회가 품질경영 및 공산품 안전관리법 제6조 동법시행령 제5조에 의거 1991년부터 대통령이 지정하는 대한민국 국가품질명장으로 남성희 총장은 탁월한 지역사회 공헌활동 실적과 품질경영혁신을 통한 국가산업발전 기여를 인정받아 국가품질명예명장증서와 휘장을 전달받았다.
남성희 총장은“국가품질명장협회와 상생의 동반자 관계를 구축하고, 4차 산업혁명 시대에 맞는 전문기술과 기능을 보유한 우수한 전문직업인 양성해 국가품질명예명장으로서 역할에 최선을 다하겠다”고 전했다.
