1만년 춘천 중도역사유적 살리기 백만 국민서명 운동본부(대표 이찬구)는 지난 11월 20일 오후2시 서울시 종로구 인사동 인사3길(뜨락갤러리) 일대에서 국민서명 발대식을 갖고 춘천 중도의 역사 말살을 즉각 중지하라는 서명전을 시작했다. 이 운동본부는 서명 시작 성명에서 “▲춘천중도 1만년 역사복원을 위해 공사중인 레고랜드를 즉각 철거하라 ▲장릉(조선왕릉) 세계문화유산을 지키기 위해 인근의 고층 아파트를 즉각 철거하라 ▲대선과 총선 입후보자에 대한 식민사관 검증 절차를 도입하라하라“고 주장했다.

춘천 중도유적지는 지난 1970년대부터 석기시대 유물과 청동기시대 유물 등이 출토된 역사 유적지이나 어린이 놀이터를 조성하고 있는 레고랜드의 공사로 심하게 훼손당하고 있다. 현재 문제가 되고 있는 레고랜드 부지는 2013년 이후 실시된 고고학적 발굴조사에서 3,300여기의 유구가 발굴된 곳. 170기의 고인돌(돌무덤)도 발굴됐다. 전문가들은 중도유적을 신석기시대 후기로부터 청동기시대, 철기시대를 관통하는 한국 역사의 축소판이라고 평가하고 있다.
최근 검찰은 춘천 레고랜드 시공사인 현대건설이 문화재청의 매장문화재 복토(覆土)지침을 위반하고 중도유적지에 대량의 잡석을 불법 매립한 범죄를 은폐한 사건에 대해 재수사를 지시한 것으로 알려졌다.
지난해 4월 중도본부(대표 김종문)에 의해 레고랜드 기반시설 공사현장에 불법매립 된 수백톤의 잡석이 발각됐었다. 중도본부의 신고를 받은 문화재청은 레고랜드 사업자들을 형사고발 했고, 경찰은 기소의견으로 송치한 바 있다.

The 10,000-year-old Chuncheon Jungdo Historic Relics Rescue 1 Million Signature Movement Headquarters (CEO Lee Chan-gu) held a public signature initiation ceremony at Insa 3-gil (Turak Gallery) in Insa-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul on November 20 at 2 pm and immediately stopped the destruction of the history of Chuncheon Jungdo. He started a signature contest. In a statement starting the signature, the campaign headquarters said, “Immediately demolish the Legoland under construction for the restoration of the 10,000-year-old history in Chuncheon Middle East. ▲Remove the high-rise apartment building nearby to protect the Jangneung (Joseon Royal Tombs) World Heritage Site immediately. ▲Election and general election. Introduce a colonial view verification procedure for candidates,” he insisted.
The Chuncheon Jungdo Historic Site is a historical site where relics from the Stone Age and the Bronze Age have been excavated since the 1970s. The Legoland site, which is currently in question, is where 3,300 remains were excavated during archaeological excavations conducted since 2013. 170 dolmens (stone tombs) were also excavated. Experts evaluate the remains of Jungdo as a microcosm of Korean history that spans the late Neolithic, Bronze, and Iron Ages.
Recently, it is known that the prosecution ordered a re-investigation into a case in which Hyundai E&C, the construction company of Legoland in Chuncheon, violated the Cultural Heritage Administration's guidelines for covering buried cultural assets and concealed the crime of illegally reclaiming a large amount of rubble at the Jungdo Historic Site.
In April of last year, hundreds of tons of rubble were discovered illegally buried at the Legoland infrastructure construction site by Jungdo Headquarters (CEO Kim Jong-moon). The Cultural Heritage Administration, which received the report from the Jungdo Headquarters, filed a criminal complaint against the Legoland operators, and the police forwarded the case with an opinion of indictment.
