[브레이크뉴스=이성용기자] 진주시는 15일 시청 기업인의 방에서 한국농어촌공사 진주산청지사와 월아산 국가정원 조성을 위한 업무 협약을 체결했다.
이날 협약에 따라 한국농어촌공사 진주산청지사는 국가정원 조성과 관련해 해당분야의 자문 및 컨설팅, 기술 지원을 약속하고 양 기관이 시설물 유지 및 관리, 전통정원 발굴 및 정원문화 확산에 힘을 모으기로 했다.
조규일 시장은 이날 협약식에서 ‘월아산 숲속의 진주’를 더욱 발전시켜 월아산 국가정원으로 가꾸어 나가고자 하는 시의 의지를 설명하고, 사업 추진과정에서 한국농어촌공사의 적극적인 협조를 당부했다.
조 시장은 “진성면 동산리 저수지는 평소에도 물이 맑아 월아산을 찾는 산책객들의 많은 사랑을 받고 있는 곳으로, 이번에 국가정원을 조성하게 되면 중심 수변공간으로써 정원의 중요한 기능을 수행할 수 있을 것”이라고 말했다.
이에 대해 김영육 진주산청지사장은 “월아산 국가정원 추진에 농어촌공사 차원에서 협력할 사항에 대해서는 적극 협조하겠다”고 응답했다.
