김천대학교(총장 윤옥현)는 2021년 3주기 대학기관평가인증에서 인증 자격을 획득했다고 29일 밝혔다.
한국대학교육협의회 병설 한국대학평가원이 주관하는 대학기관평가인증은 대학교육의 질 향상과 고등교육기관으로서의 책무성 확보를 통해 사회적 신뢰를 부여하는 제도이다.

지난 2011년부터 도입된 대학기관평가인증은 전국의 모든 대학들을 대상으로 시행되며 ▲대학이념 및 경영 ▲교육과정 및 교수·학습 ▲교원 및 직원 ▲학생지원 및 시설 ▲대학성과 및 사회적 책무 등 5개 평가영역과 30개 평가준거를 바탕으로 종합적으로 이뤄진다.
윤옥현 총장은 이번 인증 결과에 대해 "그간 어려운 교육환경 속에서도 꾸준히 대학의 교육여건과 만족도 향상을 위해서 학생·교직원 모두가 합심해 대학발전을 위해 지혜를 모은 결과"라고 하였다.
