브레이크뉴스 정명훈 기자= 조국 전 법무부 장관의 부인인 정경심 전 동양대학교 교수가 자녀 입시비리와 사모펀드 의혹으로 대법원에서 실형을 확정받았다.
대법원 2부(주심 천대엽 대법관)는 27일 자본시장과 금융투자업에 관한 법률 위반 등 혐의로 기소된 정경심 전 교수의 상고심에서 징역 4년과 벌금 5000만원을 선고했다. 또한 추칭금 1061만원을 명령한 원심도 확정했다.
앞서 정 전 교수는 자녀 입시에 활용하기 위해 위조된 동양대 총장 표창장을 서울대 공익인권법센터 및 공주대, 단국대 등 인턴 경력 서류에 활용한 혐의로 재판에 넘겨졌다. 또한 위조 정황이 담긴 동양대 PC 등의 증거 인멸을 교사한 혐의도 받아왔다.
이와 함께 조국 전 장관의 5촌 조카인 조모씨로부터 사모펀드 운용사 코링크프라이빗에쿼티(PE)가 투자한 2차 전지업체 WFM의 미공개 정보를 이용해 차명으로 약 7억1300만원 상당의 주식을 매수한 혐의도 있다.

1심 재판부는 자녀 입시비리 관련 혐의 7가지에 대해 모두 유죄 판결을 내렸고, 증거인멸교사 혐의와 사모펀드 관련 혐의 중 일부를 유죄 로 판단하며 징역 4년에 벌금 5억원을 선고하고 법정구속했다.
2심 역시 입시비리 혐의를 전부 유죄로 봤으며 자산관리인에게 증거은닉을 교사한 혐의에 대해선 1심과 달리 유죄로 보고 징역 4년에 벌금 5000만원을 선고했다. 사모펀드 관련 혐의 중 조씨로부터 정보를 듣고 주식을 매수한 미공개정보 이용 혐의에 대해선 일부 무죄로 판단했다.
