경상북도의회 임미애 의원이 명절을 맞아 의성군 의성읍에 위치한 ‘장애인보호작업장’을 방문했다.
27일 민족 대명절인 설날을 맞아 경북도의회를 대표해 ‘장애인보호작업장’을 방문한 임미애 의원은 장애우와 시설 관계자를 위로하고 위문품을 전달했다.

‘장애인보호작업장’은 여성 인력을 적극 채용하여 일과 가정 양립이 가능하도록 고용 및 근무 환경의 양성평등 실현하는 여성친화기업이다.
이날 임미애 의원은 장애인보호작업장 가족들이 생활에 불편함이 없는지 작업장 시설 곳곳을 꼼꼼히 살펴보고, 시설의 안전 관리에 각별한 관심을 가져줄 것을 당부했다.
장애인보호작업장 관계자와 환담을 나누며 당면한 고충과 애로사항을 청취한 임미애 의원은 “앞으로도 도의회에서는 장애우들의 복리증진과 권익보호를 위해 노력하고 작업장 처우개선을 위해 관심을 가지겠다.”라고 말했다.
또한 그는 “어려운 근무환경 속에서도 사랑과 나눔, 봉사정신으로 열심히 일하는 작업장 종사자 여러분에게도 감사의 마음을 전한다.”고 밝혔다.
