울진군, ‘울진대게와 붉은대게 축제’ 전격 취소

울진군의‘2022 울진대게와 붉은대게 축제’가 코로나19 여파로 전격 취소됐다.

14일 울진군에 따르면 울진군 축제발전위원회는 최근 지역 내 코로나19 확진자 수가 급증하는 상황을 감안해 지난 10일 운영위원회의 의견수렴을 거쳐 11일 위원회의에서 군민과 관광객의 안전을 위해 ‘2022 울진대게와 붉은대게 축제’의 개최를 최종적으로 취소하기로 결정했다.

울진대게와 붉은대게 축제는 겨울철 대표 먹거리 축제로 해마다 40만명 이상 방문하는 울진군의 대표 축제이지만, 코로나19가 확산하기 시작한 2020년부터 열리지 못하고 있다.

오성규 해양수산과장은 “코로나19 장기화로 모두가 힘든 상황인 만큼 지역경제를 견인하고 군민의 화합과 단결을 결속할 수 있는 다른 방안을 강구하겠다”고 전했다.
