제20대 대통령 선거에서 국민의힘 윤석열 후보가 대통령에 당선됐다. 그간 정치권에서는 '정치보복'이란 저주의 목소리가 튀어나오곤 했다. '정치보복'은 구(舊)시대의 악성 잔재이다. 김대중 전 대통령은 박정희-전두환 전 정권으로부터 투옥되는 등 온갖 탄압을 받았으나 화해(和解)용서(容恕)로 일관했다. 윤석열 대통령 당선자는 이를 본 받아, 화해-용서의 정권으로 자리를 잡아 갔으면 한다. 자신 공약으로 제시한 선도국가 건설은 정치보복을 떠나는 데서만 가능하다.
