브레이크뉴스 정명훈 기자= 윤석열 대통령 당선인이 15일 경북 울진 산불 피해현장을 찾아 원자력발전소 신한울 3,4호기 공사 착공을 빨리 하겠다고 밝혔다.
윤석열 당선인은 이날 울진군 북면 검성리 산불 피해 현장을 찾아 전찬걸 울진군수에게 브리핑을 듣는 자리에서 이같은 뜻을 전했다.
윤 당선인은 "(산불로 인한) 피해 보상은 물론 주택을 짓고 피해 회복을 할 수 있게 해야하겠다"면서 "이 지역 경제를 일으키기 위해 신한울 원전 3, 4호기의 공사 착공을 가급적 빨리해 지역에서 많이들 일할 수 있게 해보겠다"고 말했다.
이 얘기를 들은 산불 피해주민은 "원자력 발전소를 조기착공하면 특별지원금 등을 소급 적용할 방법이 없나"라고 묻자, 당선인 총괄보좌역을 맡고 있는 이철규 의원이 "원전을 건설하게 되면 상당금액의 특별지원금이 나간다. 군수께서 이를 집행하면 된다"고 답했다.
윤석열 당선인도 "신한울 3,4호기 조기착공은 제가 대선공약으로 발표한거니까 정부 인수하고 출범하면 하튼 속도를 좀 빨리 내겠다"고 약속했다.
이와 관련 김은혜 당선인 대변인은 브리핑에서 "(특별지원금은) 신한울 원전 건설 재개 이후 집행되도록 되어 있다"며 건설이 재개 후 차질없이 지원될 것이라고 설명했다.
한편 신한울 3, 4호기는 문재인 정부 출범 이후 탈원전 정책에 따라 공사가 잠정 중단됐다.

When a forest fire victim asked, "Is there any way to retroactively apply special subsidies if nuclear power plants are built early?" Rep. Lee Chul-kyu, who is the general assistant to the elected, said, "If the nuclear power plant is built, a considerable amount of special subsidies will be provided. The governor will execute it."
Yoon Seok-yeol also promised, "The early start of Shinhanul Units 3 and 4 was announced by me as a presidential election pledge, so I will speed up the pace if the government takes over and launches it."
Kim Eun-hye, a spokesman for the president-elect, said in a briefing, "The special subsidy will be implemented after the resumption of the construction of the Shinhanul nuclear power plant," adding, "The construction will be provided without a hitch."
Meanwhile, construction of Shinhanul Units 3 and 4 has been temporarily suspended in accordance with the de-nuclearization policy since the inauguration of the Moon Jae In government.
