보건의료분과 4차회의에서는 사회적 거리두기 등 그간 정부 대응에 대한 평가와 함께 향후 발전방향에 대해 논의한 것으로 알려졌다.
강기윤 의원은 “코로나 발생 이후 보건복지부를 비롯해 질병청 등 공직자들 또한 최선의 노력을 다한 것에 대해 감사의 말씀을 드립니다만, 사실상 그동안 정부 대응이 과학적인 근거에 토대를 두었다고 평가하기는 사실상 어려운 부분이 있었다”고 지적하며, “오늘 회의는 앞으로 다가올 또 다른 펜데믹에 대비해 과학적 방역의 기반을 구축할 것이며 새로운 정부가 국민의 신뢰를 받을 수 있는 방안에 대해 논의하는 자리였다. 남은 기간동안 이러한 고민들을 국정과제에 충분히 담아낼 수 있도록 최선의 노력을 다하겠다”고 밝혔다.
한편, 강기윤 의원은 지난 28일 오전 9시 30분과 오후 1시 30분에 열렸던 대통령직 인수위 사회복지문화분과 회의에도 참석해 질병청과 식약처로부터 업무보고를 받았다.
