브레이크뉴스 최애리 기자= 이마트는 보다 적극적인 ESG 경영 실천을 위해 이마트, 트레이더스, 물류센터에서 사용하는 160여대의 업무용 차량을 모두 전기차로 전환한다고 29일 밝혔다.
업무용 차량은 각 점포에 배치돼 각종 물품 구매, 마케팅 판촉, 등 점포 운영에 필요한 업무를 보조하는 용도로 사용된다.
작년 11월 이마트 성수점 업무용 차량을 시범적으로 교체했고, 오는 30일부터 8월 말까지 순차적으로 160여대 차량을 모두 교체할 계획이다.
이마트가 점포 업무용 차량을 전기차로 전환하는 것은 온실가스를 감축해 탄소중립을 실천하는 친환경 경영의 일환이다.
이번 전기차 교체를 통해 연간 1100톤의 탄소배출량을 절감할 수 있고 매년 새로운 소나무 40만 그루를 심는 효과가 기대된다.
또한, 환경부에서 주관하는 ‘한국형 무공해차 전환 사업 (K-EV100)’에 동참한다는 점에서도 의의가 크다. 한국형 무공해차 전환 사업(K-EV100)은 내연기관 차량 운행으로 발생하는 배기가스 등을 감축해 환경을 보호하고 ESG경영을 강화하고자 2030년까지 기업이 보유한 업무용 차량을 무공해차로 전환하는 프로젝트다. 현재 200여개 이상의 기업이 참여하고 있다.
