브레이크뉴스 정명훈 기자= 권성동 국민의힘 의원이 5일 원내대표 선거 출마를 공식화 했다.
윤석열 대통령 당선인의 최측근이자 4선 중진인 권 의원은 이날 국회 소통관에서 기자회견을 열고 "당선인과 저는 인간적인 신뢰 관계를 갖고 있다"며 "제가 원내대표를 하는 것이 원활한 당정 관계에 도움이 될 것"이라고 강조했다.
권 의원은 "새 정부 집권 1년 차 원내대표는 굉장히 중요한 자리"라며 "당정 간에 협력과 그리고 건강한 긴장관계가 유지돼야 한다. 그래야 당도 살고 윤석열 정부도 살 수 있다. 저는 할 말을 하는 강단으로 대통령과 당이 국민의 눈높이에서 벗어나는 일이 없도록 하고, 동시에 인간적 신뢰를 바탕으로 당정 간에 불필요한 오해와 마찰이 없도록 하겠다"고 말했다.
이어 그는 "저는 대선 경성과 본선 과정에서 윤 당선인에게 쓴소리와 직언을 가장 많이 한 사람"이라고 강조하기도 했다.

원내대표 출마가 윤 당선인과 상의된 일인가라고 묻는 기자의 질문엔 "4선 의원인 제 판단에 의해 이뤄진 것이지 당선인과 교감 하에 이뤄진 게 아니다"라고 일축하며 "제가 원내대표가 되더라도 (당선인에 쓴소리 하던) 그런 기조는 똑같이 유지하며 당과 정부가 윈윈(Win-Win)하는 전략을 펼치겠다"고 했다.
권 의원은 아울러 여소야대 국면 속에서도 새 정부의 핵심 입법 처리에 속도를 내겠다고 약속했다.
그는 "저는 4선을 하는 동안 국회 법사위원장과 법사위·환노위 간사, 각종 국정조사와 특위의 간사를 맡으며 협상력과 전투력을 함께 쌓아 왔다. 집권여당으로서 민주당을 압박할 수 있는 부분은 강력하게 압박하고, 현실적으로 추진이 어려운 부분은 철저하게 국민에게 호소하겠다. 민주당이 만약 과거와 같이 막무가내식 국회 운영을 한다면 결기 있게 맞서겠다"고 말했다.
