브레이크뉴스 정명훈 기자= 윤석열 대통령 당선인은 12일 박근혜 전 대통령을 찾아 과거 국정농단 사태 특검과 관련한 미안한 마음을 전했다고 밝혔다.
윤석열 당선인은 이날 오후 대구 달성군에 있는 박근혜 전 대통령의 사저를 방문해 이같은 입장을 밝혔다고 권영세 대통령직인수위원회 부위원장이 전했다.
권영세 부위원장은 "윤 당선인은 과거 특검과 피의자로서 일종의 악연으로 만난데 대해 굉장히 죄송해 했다"면서 "박 전 대통령이 했던 일, 정책에 대한 계승도 하고 홍보도 해서 박 전 대통령이 제대로 명예를 회복할 수 있게 하겠다는 이야기도 했다"고 말했다.
윤 당선인은 또한 오는 5월 10일 취임식 참석을 요청했고, 이에 박근혜 전 대통령은 "가능하면 참석하겠다"고 답했다.
권영세 부위원장은 이날 분위기에 대해 "두분은 선거와 대구와의 인연 이런 부분에 대해 많은 이야기를 했다. 취임식 참석 부분도 당선인이 정중하게 요청했고 박 전 대통령도 가능하면 참석하도록 노력하겠다"고 했다"면서 "두 분이 거의 뵌 사실이 없음에도 불구하고, 이런 어색한 만남에서도 화기애애하게 말씀을 나눴다"고 말했다.
윤석열 당선인도 박 전 대통령과 만난 직후 기자들과 만나 "아무래도 지나간 과거가 있지 않나. 박 전 대통령에게 인간적인 안타까움과 미안한 마음을 말씀드렸다"면서 "박 전 대통령의 건강에 대해서도 이야기를 했고, 지금 살고 계시는 사저 생활에 대한 불편한 점이 없는지에 대해서도 이야기를 나눴다"고 설명했다.
한편 이날 오후 2시경 박 전 대통령의 사저에 도착한 윤석열 당선인은 약 1시간여 대화를 나눴다. 이 자리에는 권영세 의원과 유영하 변호사가 배석했다.
