브레이크뉴스 정명훈 기자= 박지현 더불어민주당 공동 비상대책위원장은 전략공천관리위원회가 서울시장 후보 공천에서 송영길 전 대표와 박주민 의원을 컷오프 시킨데 대해 "이게 무슨 고무줄 잣대냐"라며 강하게 반발했다.
박지현 비대위원장은 이날 오전 국회에서 열린 비대위 회의에서 "동일한 잣대를 적용해 노영민 후보도 탈락시키든지, 서울에 공천을 신청한 예비후보가 모두 참여한 공정한 경선을 해야 한다"며 이같이 밝혔다.
그는 "제가 여러차례 반대했지만 충북은 대선 패배에 가장 큰 원인인 부동산 실패 책임이 있는 분을 공천하고, 서울에는 대선 때 누구보다 헌신했지만 선거 결과에 총괄적인 책임을 지고 물러난 전 대표를 탈락시켰다"고 비판했다.
박 위원장은 "저는 부동산 실패에 책임이 있는 분, 선거 패배에 책임을 지고 물러난 분은 스스로 판단해서 나서지 말 것을 요청했다"며 "이것이 반성과 쇄신을 약속한 민주당의 길이라고 보았다. 물론 저와 다른 의견을 가진 분들도 많았다. 민주주의 정당에서 다양한 의견이 나오는 것은 당연한 일"이라고 했다.
그러면서 "다만 이렇게 의견이 엇갈릴 때는 소수의 지도부가 판단하는 것이 아니라, 당원과 시민의 집단지성으로 결정하는 것이 민주정당이 선택할 가장 적절한 의사결정 방식이라 배웠다"고 덧붙였다.
박 비대위원장은 이어 "누구든 서울시장이 되고 싶은 사람은 민주당 경선에 당당하고 흔쾌히 참여해야 한다"며 "지금 상황에서 서울시장 선거에 경선을 하지 않겠다는 것은 패배선언과 다를 바 없다"고 강조했다.
그는 아울러 "전략공관위의 잘못을 바로잡을 책임은 우리 비대위원회에 있다. 민주당의 공동비대위원장으로서 저는 제가 할 일을 하겠다"며 "특정 세력의 이해를 반영한 '계파공천'이 아니라 지방선서 승리를 위한 '국민공천'이 되도록 지혜를 모으겠다"고 다짐했다.
