[브레이크뉴스=이성용기자] 경남경찰청은 26일 오후 5시 경남경찰청 4층 강당에서 북한이탈주민 정착지원을 위한 경남경찰청 안보자문협의회 정기회의를 개최했다.
경남경찰청 안보자문협의회는 경남도 내 거주 북한이탈주민들이 우리사회에서 안정적인 정착을 위해 매년 북한이탈주민 자녀 장학사업 및 의료?법률?취업지원 등 다양한 분야에서 지원활동을 해오고 있다.
이 자리에서 이상률 경남경찰청장은 “경제적 어려움 등을 겪고 있는 북한이탈주민들이 안정적으로 정착할 수 있도록 안보자문협의회에서 각종 지원을 아끼지 않고 노력해 주신 것에 대해 깊이 감사하며 앞으로도 탈북민들에 대한 더 큰 관심을 당부하고, 경찰에서도 각종 범죄로부터 탈북민들을 보호하고 피해회복에 최선을 다 할 것”이라고 말했다.
안보자문협의회에서도 “그동안 ‘코로나19’로 인해 탈북민 정착지원 활동이 다소 위축되었으나, 앞으로 어려운 환경속에서도 열심히 생활하고 있는 탈북민과 자녀들을 위해 새로운 지원사업을 추진하는 등 우리 사회의 일원으로 조속히 자리 잡을 수 있도록 안보자문협의회가 가교 역할을 충실히 할 것이라”고 말했다.
