[브레이크뉴스=이성용기자] 경남도의회는 2일 도의회 청사 증축 설계공모 최종 당선작으로 김해시 원영건축사 사무소의 작품을 선정했다고 밝혔다.
이번 설계공모전에는 총 2개의 작품이 접수되어, 대학교수, 건축사 및 도 공공건축가로 구성된 심사위원회에서 작품별로 응모업체 발표와 질의응답, 심사위원 간 토론을 거쳐 원영건축사 사무소가 제출한 작품이 당선작으로 선정됐다.
경상남도의회 청사 증축사업은 총공사비 81억 원으로 창원시 의창구 사림동 1-1번지 일원에 대지면적 3,872.03㎡에 연면적 2,955㎡ 규모의 건물 1동으로 조성된다. 증축되는 청사 규모는 지하1층, 지상3층으로 지하에는 건물 관련 설비, 지상1층에는 도민공감홀, 지상2~3층에는 의원연구실이 들어설 예정이다.
선정된 작품은 심사위원들로부터 기존 청사 배면의 식재에 대한 고려와 전면 휴게 공간 등 배치공간이 적절하고 내부 채광, 환기 및 이용자 동선에서 우수하다는 평가를 받았다.
설계공모 심사위원장을 맡은 창원대학교 정성문 교수는 “당선작은 기존 건물과 연결부분에 있는 오래된 수목을 보존할 수 있도록 최대한 이격하여 배치하고, 외관계획도 기존 건물과 조화를 이루었다”고 선정이유를 밝혔다.
