[브레이크뉴스=정철규기자] 조규일 진주시장은 1일 허남각 삼양통상 회장과 허동수 GS칼텍스(주) 명예회장을 만나 진주 발전을 위한 방안을 논의했다고 밝혔다.
허남각 삼양통상 회장은 LG 공동창업주이자 GS그룹의 효시인 故 허만정 선생의 손자로 진주시 지수면 승산마을 자라나 지수초등학교 출신이며, 허동수 회장은 허남각 회장의 친동생이다.
진주시는 중소벤처기업진흥공단과 협업해 LG, GS, 삼성 창업주 등 글로벌 기업가들을 배출한 옛 지수초등학교를 리모델링해 K-기업가정신센터를 건립·운영하고 있다.
또 시는 한옥스테이 및 게스트하우스 건립, 문화재 보수, 기업가정신 문화탐방로 조성 등 지수관광테마마을 조성사업에도 행정력을 집중하고 있다.
또한 시는 대한민국 기업가정신 국립역사관 건립, 기업가 생가 개방, 의령 및 함안과 연계한 K-기업가정신 관광벨트를 구축해 지수면을 세계적 기업가정신 마을로 조성할 계획이다.
진주시는 지수면의 기업가 생가를 개방하기 위해 지난 2019년부터 허승효 회장을 비롯해 GS가와 지속적으로 면담을 진행해 왔다.
조규일 진주시장은 지난 7월 허창수 전국경제인연합회 회장을 만난 데 이어 이번 허남각 회장을 만나 생가 개방에 대한 협조를 요청했다.
이날 조규일 시장은 지수면에 있는 기업가들의 생가 개방에 대한 운영방안을 설명하고 “세계적 기업가정신 마을로 자리 잡을 수 있도록 적극적인 협조를 바란다”고 말했다.
이에 허남각 회장은 “지수면 승산마을에 아낌없이 투자해 감사하다”며“생가 개방에 동의하며 구체적 방안은 추후 논의해 지수면 발전을 위해 적극 협력하겠다”고 화답했다.
