9일 재계에 따르면 서 여사는 암으로 투병해왔으며, 지난 7일 미국의 한 병원에 별세했다.
서 여사는 12∼16대 국회의원과 내무부 장관을 지낸 서정화 국민의힘 상임고문의 딸이다. 조부는 이승만 정부 시절 법무부 장관을 지낸 故 서상환 장관이다.
서 여사는 1982년 김 회장과 결혼했으며, 자녀로는 장남 김동관 한화솔루션 사장, 차남 김동원 한화생명 부사장, 삼남 김동선 한화호텔앤드리조트 상무가 있다.
구체적인 장례 일정은 정해지지 않았지만, 가족끼리 비공개로 치를 예정인 것으로 알려졌다.
