[브레이크뉴스=정철규기자] 진주시는 10일 하대동 도래새미공원 어린이 물놀이장을 개장했다고 밝혔다.
시는 지난 1977년 진주시 도시계획시설로 지정돼 설치했던 도래새미공원에 총사업비 6억9000만원을 투입해 노후 정비사업을 추진해 어린이 물놀이장을 포함한 공원시설 정비사업을 마무리해 준공식을 가졌다.
도래새미공원은 지난 2021년 10월 실시설계 단계에서부터 여러 차례 현장조사와 주민의견 수렴 과정을 거쳐, 지난 2월 관련부서 협의를 마무리한 후 지난 3월에 본격적인 공사에 들어갔다.
시는 시민이 즐기고 휴식할 수 있는 공간을 마련하기 위해 어린이 물놀이장과 모래놀이터를 설치하고 쉼터와 야외 운동기구를 정비해 도래새미공원을 세대 간 만남의 장소로 탈바꿈시켰다.
특히 주민들의 숙원이던 오래된 공중화장실을 쾌적한 수세식화장실로 교체하고, 낡은 놀이터 바닥도 어린이들이 안심하고 뛰어놀 수 있는 새로운 바닥으로 교체했다.
조규일 시장은 “도심 내 물놀이장과 바닥분수를 설치해 여름철 열섬현상을 완화하고 시민들의 쾌적한 휴식공간 마련을 위해 노력하겠다”고 말했다.
