브레이크뉴스 문홍철 기자= 현대자동차는 건국대학교와 함께 반려견 헌혈 문화 정착 및 확산을 위한 ‘KU 아임도그너(I’M DOgNOR) 헌혈센터’를 개소했다고 18일 밝혔다.
이날 개소식에는 유원하 현대자동차 국내사업본부장(부사장), 김윤수 현대자동차 국내마케팅실장(상무), 유자은 건국대학교 이사장, 전영재 건국대학교 총장, 조남선 대한적십자사 혈액관리본부장 및 동물복지국회포럼 공동대표인 국민의힘 이헌승 국회의원, 더불어민주당 한정애 국회의원 등 관계자들이 참석했다.
건국대학교 서울캠퍼스 내 대학 부속 동물병원 인근에 자리 잡은 KU 아임도그너 헌혈센터는 현대차가 건국대학교와 지난 1월 체결한 업무 협약의 일환으로 설립한 아시아 최초의 반려견 헌혈 기관이다.
현대차와 건국대학교는 KU 아임도그너 헌혈센터를 통해 혈액 공급용으로만 길러지는 공혈견 이슈를 궁극적으로 해소하는 것은 물론, 건강하고 다양한 혈액을 확보하고 신속하게 공급함으로써 전국적인 반려견 혈액 공급망을 구축할 수 있을 것으로 기대하고 있다.
