[브레이크뉴스=이성용 기자] 경상남도는 코로나19 BA.5변이에 의한 6차 유행이 지속되고 있는 상황에서, 의료기관과 협력 강화 등 신속한 대응체계 구축을 위해 의료전문가를 중심으로 하는 ‘경상남도 감염병 위기대응 자문위원회’를 구성하고 25일 첫 회의를 개최했다.
앞서 박완수 도지사는 7월 22일 도내 주요 병원장들과 간담회를 통해 확진자 증가에 대비한 격리병상을 추가 확대한 바 있다.
이번 회의는 그 연장선에서 전문적인 방역대책 방향과 의료대응을 위해서는 자문역할을 할 수 있는 감염병 관리 의료전문가들과의 상시적인 협력체가 필요하다는 판단에 따라 개최하게 된 것이다.
이날 자문위원회에는 경상남도의사회 최성근 회장을 비롯한 창원경상국립대병원, 양산부산대병원, 삼성창원병원 등 도내 주요병원의 감염내과 전문가 등이 참여해 도내 코로나19 발생상황을 공유하고 재유행을 대비한 자율입원병원과 원스톱 진료기관의 확대, 먹는치료제 처방 확대 등에 대한 사항을 논의했다.
전문가들은 6차 유행이 8월 말을 기준으로 정점을 찍고 앞으로 완만한 감소세가 될 것으로 예상하지만, 개학과 연이은 추석 연휴라는 변수가 있어 그 추이에 대하여 지속적인 관심이 필요하다고 밝혔다.
그리고 BA.5 변이에 의한 6차 유행과 관련해 확진자 수보다는 중증환자 관리 및 사망 예방을 위해 힘을 모아야 한다는데 동의하면서 예방접종과 치료제 처방이 필요하다는 의견이 모아졌다.
또한, 현재의 행정기관 주도의 코로나19 대응 방식은 점차 동네 병의원이 적극 참여하는 방식으로 유도하여 기존의 일상적인 의료체계로 자연스럽게 변경하는 것도 필요하다는 의견을 제시했다.
삼성창원병원 위유미 교수는 “단기적 유행상황에 따라 격리병상 등 위중증병상을 지정하고 해제하는 방식은 지양하고 장기적인 관점에서 위중증병상을 운영하는 계획이 필요하다”는 의견을 제시했다.
경상남도 복지보건국장은 “위원회를 통해 코로나19 등 감염병 현안에 대한 의료기관과의 공동대응체계를 점검하여 강화할 수 있고, 각 기관별 정보를 공유하는 등 지속적인 협력으로 현재의 코로나19는 물론 신종 감염병에 대한 더 체계적인 대응이 가능할 것으로 기대된다”고 밝혔다.
또한 “개학 및 명절로 인해 사람들 간의 접촉이 많아지는 만큼 실내마스크 착용, 손씻기 등 생활방역 수칙 준수와 예방접종 참여를 당부드린다”고 덧붙였다.
