브레이크뉴스 정명훈 기자= 이재명 더불어민주당 대표가 대장동·백현동 사건에 대한 허위사실 유포 혐의로 검찰이 소환 통보한데 대해 "말꼬투리 하나 잡았다"고 꼬집었다.
이재명 대표는 이날 광주 김대중컨벤션센터에서 열린 현장 최고위원회의 후 기자들과 만난 자리에서 "아주 오랜 시간동안 검찰이 경찰을 총동원해 이재명 잡겠다고 했는데, 결국 말꼬투리 하나 잡은 것 같다"고 밝혔다.
이 대표는 "여러분이 판단해보라"며 "우리 국민들이 맡긴 권력을 국민의 나은 삶을 만들고 민생을 챙기고 위기를 극복하는데 써야지 이렇게 먼지털이하듯 털다가 안 되니까 엉뚱한 걸로 꼬투리 잡는 것은 적절하지 않다"고 주장했다.
반면 검찰은 이재명 대표의 공직선거법 위반 혐의를 수사하면서 당초 서면조사 방침을 세우고 서면질의서 등을 이 대표 측에 전달했지만 수 차례 요청에도 답변하지 않아 소환 조사를 통보한 것으로 알려졌다.
앞서 이재명 대표는 지난 국정감사 등에서 대장동 개발 관련 발언 및 백현동 부지 용도 변경 특혜 의혹에 대한 발언과 고(故) 김문기 전 성남도시개발공사 개발1처장을 모른다고 말한 것 등에 대해 허위사실 유포 혐의로 고발된 바 있다.
이에 대해 권성동 국민의힘 원내대표는 이날 자신의 페이스북을 통해 "범죄와의 전쟁이고, 물러설 수 없는 전쟁"이라며 "민주당이 이재명 의원의 숱한 범죄 의혹에도 불구하고, 압도적 지지를 보내 당대표로 만들었다. 당대표 자리를 범죄의혹 방탄조끼로 사용했으니, 와해의 길을 택한 것은 민주당 자신"이라고 비판했다.
권 원내대표는 지난 대선 기간 이재명 대표를 둘러싼 의혹(△대장동, △백현동, △성남FC후원금, △변호사비 대납, △법인카드 유용, △사노비로 전락한 공무원, △지역화폐 코나아이 특혜 논란, △남양주 공무원 중징계 및 보복 행정)을 나열하며 "이번 이 대표의 검찰 소환 통보는 허위사실, 즉 거짓말에 대한 것이다. 거짓으로 덮으려는 범죄의 실체는 아직 드러나지 않았다"고 지적했다.
