브레이크뉴스 정명훈 기자= 이재명 더불어민주당 대표는 6일 예정된 검찰 소환 조사에 불출석하기로 결정했다. 이 대표는 지난 5일 검찰에 서면 답변서를 제출했기 때문에 출석 요구 사유사 소멸됐다고 이유를 설명했다.
안호영 민주당 수석대변인은 6일 오전 서면 브리핑을 통해 "이재명 대표는 검찰의 서면 조사 요구를 받아들여 서면 진술 답변을 했으므로 출석 요구 사유가 소멸돼 출석하지 않는다"고 밝혔다.
그는 "앞서 검찰은 이재명 대표가 서면 조사에 불응했기 때문에 출석을 요구한 것이라고 했다"면서 "이원석 검찰총장 후보는 인사청문회에서 이 대표에 대한 출석 요구는 진술 소명 기회를 주려는 것이라고 했다"고 설명했다.
이어 "당 안팎의 대체적 의견도 꼬투리잡기식 정치 탄압에 끌려 다니지 말아야 한다는 것"이라며 "이에 따라 이 대표는 어제 오후 검찰이 요구한 서면조사서에 소명에 필요한 답변 진술을 기재해 중앙지검에 보내고 유선 통지했다"고 전했다.
안호영 수석대변인은 또한 이재명 대표가 받고 있는 백현동 관련 의혹에 대해선 "박근혜 정부 당시 식품연구원 등 공기업 5개 이전 부지를 두고 국토부는 조속 매각을 위해 주거용으로 용도 변경을 요구했으나, 성남시는 기업 유치를 위해 이를 거부했다"면서 "2014년 말까지 정부 매각 시한에 따라 국토부는 성남시에 용도 변경을 강하게 압박했는데 그 과정에서 이재명 시장은 국토부가 성남시 공무원을 직무유기로 문제 삼겠다며 위협한단 보고를 받았다"고 해명했다.
아울러 당시 취재 기자의 증언 및 수사기관 제출 확인서가 존재한다는 점과 국토부·성남시 간 질의 답변 내용 등 명확한 증거가 많다면서, 이 대표가 지난해 국감에서 당시 국토부가 용도 변경을 안 해주면 직무유기로 문제 삼겠다는 발언은 사실에 근거한다고 주장했다.
이와 함께 대장동 개발 특혜 의혹에 대해선 "국민의힘 국회의원이 LH 공공 개발을 막아 민간 개발 길을 열었고 이재명 당시 시장이 다시 공공 개발을 시도하자 국민의힘 성남시 의원 전원은 민간 개발 강요를 위해 도시공사 설립과 지방채 발행을 막았다"며 "국민의힘 압박 때문에 공공 개발을 포기하고 SPC를 만들어 민간 자금을 이용한 민관 합동 개발을 한 것이다. 지난해 국감에서 이를 밝힌 이 대표 발언은 사실"이라고 했다.
