[브레이크뉴스=이성용 기자] 경남도는 16일 경남테크노파크에서 원전산업을 전략적으로 육성하기 위한 원전기업 신속지원 협의체 업무협약을 체결하고 신속지원센터 개소식을 개최했다.

이날 행사에는 박완수 도지사, 천영길 산업통상자원부 에너지산업실장, 홍남표 창원시장을 비롯해 경남지방중소벤처기업청, 에너지기술평가원, 한국원자력연구원, 한국전기연구원, 한국재료연구원, 중소벤처기업진흥공단, 기술보증기금, 신용보증기금, 농협은행, BNK경남은행, 한국수력원자력, 두산에너빌리티, 한국원자력산업협회, 경남테크노파크, 창원산업진흥원 등 관계기관 대표가 참석했다.
경남도는 그동안 지원기관이 산재되어 있어 신속한 지원에 어려움을 겪어온 원전기업에 기술개발과 금융지원 등 분야별로 연계지원을 할 수 있도록 ‘원전기업 신속지원 협의체(이하 ‘협의체’)’를 구축하기로 했다.
협의체는 행정, 기술개발, 금융, 판로, 기업지원 총 5개 분야의 17개 기관으로 구성되며, 기업애로와 건의사항을 파악해서 해소에 이르기까지 총체적인 협력체계를 확립해 나가기로 했다.

이어 원전산업 현장에서 정부와 기관, 기업이 일원화된 소통채널을 구축하고자 ‘원전기업 신속지원센터를 개소해 현판식을 가졌고, 센터는 협의체의 파견 인력으로 운영되며, 향후 경험많은 퇴직 전문가를 채용해 지원체계를 더욱 강화해 나갈 계획이다.
박 도지사는 “정부의 원전 생태계 회복에 대한 의지가 강한 만큼, 대한민국 원전산업의 공백을 메우고 지역 기업도 크게 발전할 것”이라며 “이번 업무협약과 원전기업 신속지원센터 개소가 지역 원전기업의 경쟁력을 키우는 데에 실질적인 도움이 될 것으로 기대한다”고 말했다.
한편 경남도는 ‘소형모듈원자로 첨단제조공정 기술개발 사업’을 정부 예타사업으로 추진하고, 에너지산업융복합단지에 원전산업 분야가 포함될 수 있도록 산업부와 협의 중에 있다.
