[브레이크뉴스=이성용 기자] 박완수 경상남도지사는 27일 오전 현대로템으로부터 공식 초청을 받아 현대로템 창원공장에서 개최된 동력분산식 고속차량 출고 기념식에 참석했다고 밝혔다.
행사는 국내 최초로 운행시속 320km급을 자랑하는 EMU-320 출고를 기념하고자 개최됐으며, 김영선 국회의원, 최진석 한국철도학회장, 구자천 창원상공회의소 회장을 비롯해 관계자 130여 명이 참석했다.
국내 유일의 고속차량 제작업체인 현대로템은 지난 2019년 시속 260km급의 고속차량 EMU-250(KTX-이음)을 출시한 바 있고, 이번에 시속 320km급의 EMU-320을 선보이게 된 것이다.
철도 고속차량은 크게 동력집중식과 동력분산식으로 구분된다. 동력분산식 고속차량은 동력집중식에 비해 동력원을 전 객차에 분산 배치해 수송과 가감속 성능이 우수한 것으로 알려져 있다.

박완수 도지사는 축사를 통해 “대한민국 방위산업과 철도산업을 대표하는 현대로템이 우리 경남에 있다는 것은 도민의 한 사람으로서 큰 자랑”이며 “오랜 투자를 통해 이루어낸 동력분산식 고속차량 제작기술은 국가의 핵심기술이자 성장동력이다. 현대로템이 글로벌기업으로 더욱 발전해 나가기를 기원한다”고 말했다.
