안양시청소년재단(이사장 최대호) 산하 동안청소년수련관(관장 이석구)이 지난 10월 1일 어린이 모의 의회를 개최했다. 동안청소년수련관은 청소년의 권리 이해를 바탕으로 지역사회에 필요한 정책 발굴 및 제안을 통해 어린이들에게 사회참여활동 기회를 제공하고자 ‘2022 어린이의회’ 프로그램을 기획했다.
지난 6월부터 초등학교 5,6학년 청소년 25명의 어린이의회 프로그램 참가자들은 인권, 환경, 유해환경 차단, 안전을 주제로 4개의 정당으로 나뉘어 지역사회에 필요한 정책을 발굴해 왔다.
안양시의회 보사환경위원회 윤경숙 위원장, 김보영 부위원장, 김정중 의원, 곽동윤 의원이 멘토이자 심사위원으로 참여한 가운데 모의 의회가 개최됐고, 의원들은 어린이의회 각 정당별 공약 및 정책에 대한 조언을 아끼지 않았다.
동안청소년수련관 이석구 관장은 “청소년들이 모의 의회를 계기로 안양시의 주인으로서 사회참여 활동의 중요성을 깨닫고 민주시민 역량을 키워 대한민국을 넘어 세계를 이끌어가는 역할을 다할 수 있도록 최선을 다해 지원해 나갈 것”이라고 말했다.
