[브레이크뉴스=정철규 기자] 사천 마도갈방아소리 보존회가 선원들의 무사안녕과 풍어를 기원하는 마도갈방아소리 공연이 오는 29일 오후 3시 사천시 대포동 어촌계 회관 광장에서 열린다.
경남도 무형문화재 제28호 '전어잡이 어민과 함께하는 마도갈방아소리'는 전승·보전을 위해 올해 처음으로 개최되는 공연으로 사천시 연안 자망배 자율공동체 및 사천시 대포동 어촌계 회원들이 참여한다.
특히 이번 공연에 91세의 예능보유자 박용준 씨가 완벽하게 앞소리꾼의 역할을 다하고 있어 마도갈방아소리를 이해하는데 많은 도움될 것으로 기대된다.
마도갈방아소리는 사천의 서남쪽에 위치한 마도에서 전어잡이를 위해 불리던 노동요로 다른 지역의 전어잡이 관련 놀이와 무형문화재와는 다소 차이가 있다.
면사로 만들어진 전통 그물에 타닌 성분인 ‘갈’을 먹이기 위해 소나무 껍질에 방아질을 하며 부르던 노래인데, 어구 등의 손질부터 전어를 잡고 돌아오는 과정을 현실감 있게 표현하고 있는 우리 지역의 중요한 무형문화재이다.
현재 전승되는 마도갈방아소리는 크게 다섯 마당으로 구성됐다.
첫째 마당은 갈방아 찧는 마당, 둘째 마당은 갈을 먹이는 마당, 셋째 마당은 배 고사 지내는 마당, 넷째 마당은 고기 잡는 마당, 다섯째는 만선을 기뻐하는 마당이다.
마도갈방아소리는 노동의 피곤함과 어부들의 애환을 잘 표현하고 있다.
이동철 보존회장은 “전승자들의 공연능력을 향상시키고자 마련된 것”이라며 “우리의 전통문화를 계승발전시기기 위한 이번 공연에 시민들의 많은 성원과 적극적인 참여를 바란다”고 말했다.
