세종시교육청이 내년 1학년부터 고교학점제를 단계적으로 적용한다고 밝혔다.
고교학점제는 학생이 기초 소양과 기본 학력을 바탕으로 진로·적성에 따라 과목을 선택하고, 이수 기준에 도달한 과목에 대해 학점을 취득·누적해 졸업하는 제도다.
최교진 세종시교육감은 25일 오전 교육청 대회의실에서 이러한 고교학점제 추진계획을 발표했다.
고교학점제는 2024학년도 1·2학년, 2025년에는 모든 고등학생이 대상이 된다.
정부가 2025년 전면시행을 밝힌 고교학점제는 졸업 기준 학점인 192학점을 취득해야 하는데, 세종시교육청은 과목 이수 기준 미도달 땐 보충 이수를 지원하는 성취수준 보장 지도도 내년부터 단계적으로 확대 한다는 계획이다.
내년부터 고교학점제가 시행됨에 따라 세종시교육청은 모든 학생이 적성과 소질에 맞는 맞춤형 교육을 받을 수 있도록 학생 선택형 진료 맞춤형 교육과정도 확대하기로 했다.
교육청은 또 내년부터 세종시의 16개 모든 일반계 고등학교를 교과중점학교로 운영할 계획이다.
교과중점학교는 각급 고등학교에서 중점교과를 중심으로 관련 과목을 개설해 교과 전문성을 높이는 교육과정으로, 내년에는 자연 계열 과정 14개 학교, 인문 계열 과정 8개 학교, 융합 과정 1개 학교 등 모두 23개의 과정이 운영된다.
2017년 도입한 캠퍼스형 공동교육과정도 지역대학으로 연계 확대한다.
올해는 공주대, 충북대, 한국교원대 등 지역대학과 연계한 공동교육과정에 따라 연계 대학을 확대하고, 선택과목도 늘인다.
시교육청은 고교학점제 도입에 따라 진로진학 정보가 급증할 것에 대비해 세종 미래지음 고교학점제도도 지속적으로 실습 프로그램 등도 확대할 방침이다.
또한, 지난해 미래지음 고교학점제 정보센터 개설에 따라 캠퍼스형 공동교육과정 온리인 접수 시스템, 교(강)사 인력풀 조회·등록 시스템과 같은 중등교육 관련 누리집을 연계해 진로·진학 정보 이용에 대한 편리성도 높인다.
최교진 교육감은 "세종교육이 가진 여러 장점을 살려 교육공동체와 함께 성공 모델을 만들어 고교학점제를 선도해 나갈 방침"이라고 말했다.
