㈜동남, 남문외국인투자지역 첫 번째 국내복귀기업

[브레이크뉴스=이성용 기자] 창원특례시는 28일 부산진해경제자유구역청 대회의실에서 ㈜동남·경남도·경자청과 함께 투자협약(MOU)을 체결했다고 밝혔다.

협약식은 창원시, 경상남도, 부산진해경제자유구역청과 투자기업 관계자가 참여한 가운데 진행되었으며, 이번 협약을 통해 ㈜동남은 30억을 투자해, 2027년까지 부산진해경제자유구역 남문지구외국인투자지역내 부지에 3D프린팅을 적용한 신소재 및 친환경 자동차 부품 주형 연구개발 및 제작을 위한 스마트 공장을 신설하고, 20명의 신규 인력을 고용할 계획이다.

㈜동남은 알류미늄 소재, 금형, 가공 및 조립 기술력을 갖춘 소부장전문기업으로 2002년부터 현대·기아차에 부품을 공급하기 위해 협력사로 중국 베이징에 동반 진출했으나, 국내복귀를 결정해 지난 8월 산업통상자원부로부터 국내복귀기업으로 선정됐다.

‘외국인투자촉진법’ 및 ‘해외진출기업’의 국내복귀 지원에 관한 법률 개정 이후 비수도권 지역으로 유턴하는 복귀기업도 외국인투자지역으로 입주가 허용됨에 따라, ㈜동남은 창원시로 복귀한 기업으로는 6번째 기업으로, 남문외국인투자지역에 입주하는 첫 번째 국내복귀기업으로 기록됐다.
