[브레이크뉴스=정철규 기자] 제71회 개천예술제의 시작을 알리는 의식인 개제식이 28일 진주성 임진대첩계사순의단 앞 특설무대에서 개최됐다.
이날 조규일 진주시장과 박광웅 제전위원장, 양해영 진주시의회의장을 비롯한 각 기관·단체장 및 문화예술인과 수많은 시민 등이 참석한 가운데, 식전 퍼포먼스, 개제선언, 창제취지문 낭독, 대북 타고 식후행사인 진주출신의 가수 오유진과 허주의 축하공연등의 순서로 진행됐다.
종전의 단조로운 개막 행사에서 탈피해 진주시민과 외래 관람객이 함께 호흡하고 즐길 수 있는 다양한 프로그램을 구성해 예향 진주의 이미지를 부각시켜 작년과 달라진 예술제의 위상을 실감하게 했다.
또한 올해는 더 많은 시민과 관람객의 볼거리, 즐길거리를 위해 개제식과 전국 가장행렬 경진대회를 분리해 개최되어 29일 전국가장행렬 경진대회가 진행된다.
이날 조규일 시장은 창제취지문 낭독과 대북 타고를 통해 개천예술제의 화려한 개막을 알렸다.
조 시장은 “개천예술제는 71년이라는 세월 동안 명성이 높은 수많은 예술가를 배출해 온 문화예술의 산물이자 살아있는 역사다”며 “문화예술인의 저력으로 문화예술의 향기가 우리 진주시민의 마음을 풍요롭게 하는 활력소가 되고 명실 공히 세계가 인정하는 문화예술 관광 도시로 도약할 수 있도록 창작 활동에 더욱 더 정진해 주시기를 바란다”고 밝혔다.
