[브레이크뉴스=이성용 기자] 창원특례시는 2일부터 4일까지 친환경 복합재료 분야 대표 국제 학술대회인 「제11회 국제 친환경 복합재료 컨퍼런스」가 CECO에서 개최된다고 1일 밝혔다. 더불어 한국복합재료학회 추계학술대회도 동시 개최되어 국내·외 산학연 복합재료 대표기관이 대거 참여한 국제 학술교류의 장이 마련될 예정이다.
ICGC11은 2002년 일본 도쿠시마대학에서 개최된 제1회를 시작으로 한·중·일을 순회하며 개최되는 국제학술대회로 한국에서는 세 번째로 열리는 행사다.
이번 행사는 창원시와 ICGC 위원회가 공동주최하고, (사)한국복합재료학회와 창원대 메카트로닉스연구원 신소재연구센터가 주관하며, 600여명의 학회 관계자들이 온·오프라인으로 행사에 참여한다.
친환경 복합재료는 우수한 생분해성 및 경량성을 토대로 흡음성, 보온성, 내진동성 등 다양한 기능성을 부여하여 지속 가능한 산업 발전을 위해 효과적으로 사용될 수 있는 미래형 소재다.
이번 국제학술대회는 이러한 친환경 복합재료에 관한 주제로 서울대 김현중 교수, 야마구치대 Koichi Goda 교수, 시즈오카대 Shimamura Yoshinobu 교수를 비롯한 해외 12개국의 교수 및 연구원들이 참여해 강연을 펼칠 예정이다.
또한 국제 학술대회 기간 중 창원시 문화 탐방 투어 프로그램을 구성하여 마산 국화축제를 관람하고, 창원시 일원을 관광하며 국제대회 참가자들에게 스마트 기후환경도시 창원의 매력을 알린다.
정현섭 창원특례시 경제일자리국장은 “창원은 산업도시이자 환경도시로서 친환경 복합재료라는 학술대회 핵심주제와 맞물려 개최의의가 더 크다”고 말하며 “이번 학술대회를 통해 우리시 소재 관련 주력 산업과 연계한 학술·연구 교류 등 다양한 시너지 효과가 만들어지길 바란다”고 전했다.
