[브레이크뉴스=이성용 기자] 경남도는 2일 오후 도청 중앙회의실에서 박완수 경상남도지사, 김일환 국토안전관리원장을 비롯해 관계자 10여 명이 참석한 가운데 공중이용시설과 건설현장의 중대재해 예방을 위해 국토안전관리원과 업무협약을 체결했다.
이번 업무협약은 지난 1월 「중대재해처벌법」 시행으로 재해예방에 대한 사회적인 관심이 고조되고 있는 가운데 도내 주요 공중이용시설과 건설현장에서 도민 안전을 확보하고 안전문화를 더욱 확산시키고자 추진하게 됐다.
협약의 주요내용은 ▲ 교량, 터널 등 공중이용시설 점검사항 ▲ 소규모 공동주택(150세대 미만) 안전관리 컨설팅 지원 ▲ 안전관리에 관한 정보·기술 교류 ▲ 시설물통합관리시스템(FMS) 활용 지원 등이다.
경남도는 이번 협약으로 국토안전관리원의 우수한 인력과 장비를 활용해 위험요인을 사전에 발굴하고 개선함으로 안전문화를 확산하고, 중대재해를 감축하는 데 크게 기여할 것으로 전망했다.

김일환 국토안전관리원장은 “안전사고 예방을 위해 안전관리를 철저히 하는 것이 무엇보다도 중요하다”며 “이번 협약을 통해 경남도의 안전망을 더욱 두텁게 하는 데 시너지 효과를 가져올 것”이라고 밝혔다.
박완수 도지사는 “최근 안전문제는 대한민국의 가장 큰 화두”라며 “이번 업무협약을 통해 국토안전관리원과 각종 건설현장과 건축물의 안전관리에 협력체계를 구축해 나가며, 안전강화에 대해 지속적으로 노력하는 계기로 삼겠다”고 말했다.
