[브레이크뉴스=정철규 기자] 진주사직단보존회(대표·최진수)는 16일 오전 11시께 진주사직단(경상남도 기념물, 상봉동 소재)에서 제9회 진주사직제를 봉행했다.
이날 진주사직제 봉행에는 진주사직단보존회 및 시민 등 30여 명이 참석해 초헌관에 백승흥 진주시 의회 의원, 아헌관에 강진철 진주시 의회 도시환경위원회 위원장, 종헌관에는 배인엽 상봉동장이 선임돼 제례를 올렸다.
진주사직제는 토지를 다스리는 사신과 곡식을 다스리는 직신을 모신 사직단에 지방관이 왕을 대신해 올리는 국태민안과 풍년을 기원하는 제례로 매년 봄과 가을에 봉행하고 있다.
한편 진주사직단은 일제강점기 문화말살 정책으로 훼손됐지만 제단, 담장, 출입시설이 남아 원형 복원 가능성이 있어 내년 시굴조사를 실시할 예정이며 조사결과에 따라 원형고증을 거쳐 복원할 계획이다.
