최민호 세종시장이 17일 공공비축미곡 수매 현장을 찾아 농가의 애로사항을 청취했다.
올해 공공비축미곡 매입은 세종시 연서면 성제리에 위치한 세종농협 창고에서 진행됐다.
최 시장은 수매 현장을 살펴보고 쌀값 하락으로 시름이 깊은 농업인들을 위로했다
이날 수매한 연서면 공공비축미곡은 건조벼 약 123톤으로, 벼 개화시기에 잦은 비로 인해 전년 대비 수확량이 감소했다.
시는 지난 8일 연동면을 시작으로 정부수매를 추진해 공공비축미곡 3,171톤과 정부에서 쌀값 안정화를 위해 시장에 격리시키는 시장격리곡 3,289톤을 배정받아 총 6,460톤을 수매 추진 중이다.
정부매입물량은 산물벼 1,385톤, 건조벼 1,529톤이며, 세종시농협쌀조합공동사업법인에서는 약 8,300톤이 자체매입됐다.
세종시는 지난 9월 쌀값하락으로 2021년산 쌀 재고 소진에 어려움이 있었으나, 대전유통과의 업무협약을 통해 대형 유통망을 확보하면서 전량 소비했고, 앞으로도 관내에서 쌀 소비가 무리없이 진행될 수 있도록 유통망 확보와 판촉홍보 활동을 지속할 계획이라고 밝혔다.
