[브레이크뉴스=정철규 기자] 진주시는 23일 진양호 근린공원 내 노후 건축물을 활용해 조성한 진양호 복합문화공간 ‘진양호 물빛 갤러리’준공식을 가졌다.
시에 따르면 지난 2021년 11월부터 총사업비 10억원을 들여 옛 선착장 주변 리모델링해 지상 2층 규모로 복합문화공간으로 준공했다고 전했다.
이곳 장소는 26년 전까지만 해도 진주의 명물이자 서부경남의 대표적인 관광코스 중 하나였던 진양호 유람선을 운행하던 곳으로 많은 시민들에게 추억이 깃들어 있는 장소다.
이곳 1층에는 지역예술인, 문화활동에 참여하는 지역단체, 학생들에게 전시 등의 기회를 제공하는 소규모 공간을 마련하고 2층에는 카페, 그리고 옥상에는 루프탑 전망 휴게공간을 조성했다.
더불어 시는 문화행사를 개최할 수 있는 주차장 겸용 야외광장인 ‘진양호 썬셋플라자’공사도 마무리해 갤러리와 함께 다양한 문화행사를 치를 수 있도로 조성했다.
이날 조규일 진주시장은 “지난 8월 진양호 아천 북카페에 이어 진양호 물빛 갤러리ㆍ썬셋플라자를 준공했다”며“진양호 르네상스를 추진해 진양호공원의 명성을 되찾고 활력을 불어 넣도록 하겠다”고 말했다.
