브레이크뉴스 문홍철 기자 = 장동혁 국민의힘 원내대변인이 더불어민주당이 주도하고 있는 방송법 개정안을 "민노총 언론노조의 공영방송 영구장악법"이라며 강하게 비판했다.
장동혁 원내대변인은 30일 논평에서 "더불어민주당의 망나니 칼춤이 멈추지 않고 있다"며 "이곳저곳 여러 상임위에서 예산안을 마음대로 칼질하더니 어제는 '민노총 언론노조의 공영방송 영구장악법'인 방송법 개정안을 날치기로 통과시켰다"고 밝혔다.
앞서 민주당 소속 의원들은 지난 29일 열린 과학기술정보방송통신위원회 정보통신방송법안심사소위에서 국민의힘 소속 의원들이 퇴장한 가운데 단독으로 방송법 개정안을 통과시켰다. 민주당 주도의 방송법 개정안은 공영방송 이사 선임 방식을 여야 추천(여당 다수) 방식에서 다양한 기관·단체로부터 추천받는 방식으로 바꾸고, 이사회 규모도 확대하는 내용이 골자다.
민주당이 해당 방송법 개정안을 추진하는 표면적 이유는 "언론의 자유와 독립을 보장"하기 위해서지만, 국민의힘은 친민주당·친민노총 사장을 선임하겠다는 의도로 보고 입법을 반대하고 있다. 실제로 민주당은 대통령선거 패배 이후 정권 교체 직전인 지난 4월 말에야 해당 개정안을 발의한 뒤 입법을 적극 추진해오고 있다.
